Vocal recording day with two sessions! Using the same setup for both sessions to be flexible. The top mic is a tube BPM CR76, which is a neumann u67 clone, and below is the @neumann.berlin TLM103. The BPM will have are more saturated forward pushed sound and the neumann a more open dynamic sound. A photo of last sunday's white noise session recording with The Hubschrauber. Used a Glyn Johns overhead setup through the Warm Audio wa273-eq with 4 additional close mics. Sounded thick and warm. Did some #recordings today for mine and @freekphilippi 's project Meglamancha! Basically used the same drumset as with @deadneanderthals last tuesday, with a slightly different micing setup, all of my cymbals and no fronthead on the kick for a more low end thud sound. Worked out great!! Checking vinyl test pressings! The best way to get a good idea how a mastering will sound after the vinyl pressing with the many variables involved is to have a test pressing. Even if you have the best prepared vinyl master ever it's still a bit of waiting untill the real vinyl comes to hear how it actually sounds.
